Fiduciary Council Elected

The first elected CSCPF Fiduciary Council is now a reality!  Last month, the membership elected and affirmed the slate of individuals who were nominated by Practitioner Communities and groups of members in CSCPF.  The Fiduciary Council is entrusted with the legal, financial, corporate, risk management and external relations responsibilities of CSCPF. This Council works closely and in a supportive manner with the Program Council, which is entrusted to implement the program goals of CSCPF. In the upcoming weeks, the Fiduciary Council will be meeting to familiarize themselves with our Organization's bylaws, organize leadership of the Council and determine how they will best represent our diverse membership.  More information about the Fiduciary Council will available by the Scottsdale gathering and subsequent issue of Spirit Matters. Your comments, questions, and suggestions are an important part of the governance development process. The Ad-hoc Governance Team is asking for your feedback, and this link will lead you to a form where you can provide it. Thanks for all your comments, suggestions, and questions.

Today the Ad-hoc Governance Team issued its Draft Report, a compilation of recommendations for the development of CSCPF governance structures and processes. The report has been distributed to all members via email, but is also available here. There are three virtual town hall meetings scheduled in February to facilitate discussion by members. If you are a member, please register for one, and come with questions, comments, and suggestions. The publication of this report begins a process that will continue for several months. Watch this space for more news.

With profound gratitude and best wishes to all of our supporters for the new year, CSCPF is happy to announce that the terms of the Accreditation Challenge Grant were not only met, but exceeded! Such generosity of spirit is a terrific model of our values. Many, many thanks to everyone. 

CSCPF is currently applying for recognition to become an accrediting organization. There are significant fees associated with this process which present financial challenge for our new Community. Gratefully an anonymous donor has generously offered to match any donations towards CSCPF's Accreditation fees up to a total of $1000! On November 10, 2014 the Internal Revenue Service notified CSCPF of its determination that we are a tax exempt corporation under Internal Revenue Code Section 501(c)(3). All donations to CSCPF are deductible to the extent permitted by the donor's personal circumstances. We look forward to many years of serving the public by advancing the discipline of spiritual care. 

The Center for Spiritual Care and Pastoral Formation registered as a California Nonprofit Public Benefit Corporation on September 10, 2014. Our Articles of Incorporation were endorsed by the State of California Secretary of State on September 25, 2014. Happy Birthday, CSCPF!
